Quilt has two different Slack integrations.
The Slack Knowledge Assistant, which is a bot that answers questions in your slack channels.
The Slack Data Source, which reads conversations from your slack channels and indexes information from those conversations to answer questions in the future.

This document describes the first, the Slack Knowledge Assistant
Setting up the Slack Knowledge Assistant
To set up the Assistant, you will need to be an admin of your slack workspace. If you're at a large company, you probably need to contact IT for help and send them this article.
β
You or an admin should follow these steps to set up the Assistant:
Go the the Quilt integrations page at https://web.quilt.app/group/settings/integrations
Find "Slack Knowledge Assistant" in the list of integrations. If it is disabled, click the "Get Help" button or email [email protected] to add the integration to your Quilt instance.
Click "Connect" next to "Slack Knowledge Assistant"
Follow the Oauth flow steps to give us permission to read and post messages to your Slack Workspace
After the Oauth window closes, find the form floating near the "Slack Knowledge Assistant" or click "Modify" to open it
Choose which channels you would like to Bot to respond in. The Slackbot will ignore all other channels. If you would like it to respond in all channels, make sure "Enable ... all channels" is checked.
If your desired channels are missing, please click "Get Help" or email us at [email protected]
β
That's it!
βNOTE: The bot will only respond to messages where it is mentioned or requested, even if it is enabled in the channel. You can use either the /quilt
slash command or mention the bot with @Quilt
and it will answer your question.
